Where to propose in Leeds

Spring has sprung, and with better weather, romance blooms. Many of us will be thinking of proposing to that special someone now that Winter has come to a close, and it may surprise you that Leeds can prove the perfect destination to host it! Whether you’re planning a special trip, or local to the area, here we will look at the top destinations the City of Leeds has to offer in order to make your proposal one to remember.  

1. Yeadon Tarn

With the sunnier days coming thick and fast, what’s a better way to spend your time than a walk around a stunning lake? Being a host to many pubs and cafes nearby, you could stop for a bite to eat with a surprise! The nature park is also the perfect spot for a prosecco picnic to celebrate. 

2. Leeds Art Gallery

'A world of art in the heart of the City'. Fancy yourself and your partner as a fan of art? If the answer is 'yes', then heading to Leeds Art Gallery could be the perfect place to propose while surrounded by some of Britain's most spectacular modern and contemporary art. If you know your partner's favourite collection or piece of artwork, why not pop the question in that special spot? 

3. Millenium Square

In a destination known for hosting some fantastic events, why not create your own? A walk through the gardens admiring the water features and nature finished with a spectacular view of you on one knee in front of a show they would never forget. Magic.

Sky Lounge is situated in the heart of Leeds City centre and offers its diners unrivalled views of the city with food and cocktails to match. Why not wine and dine your significant other and then get down on one knee with the city as your backdrop? You could even get the staff involved and get them to capture the moment you ask. 5. Leeds Cathedral

Built in 1904 and a massive piece of Leeds history, why not create your own history in front of a spectacular building that would take anyones breath away during a proposal? If you also plan on having your marriage ceremony in the Catholic Cathedral this could be a very special touch.

There’s nothing like the excitement of the theatre to get your hearts racing. Do some research and book an evening at the theatre to watch your loved one's favourite show. Once the show has finished, make your own finale and get down on one knee or produce the ring at the interval with a bottle of bubbly for the rest of the show!

Music, dancing, drinks and food! Leeds Festival is the perfect way to celebrate a proposal, surrounded by your best friends and in front of your favourite musicians. Plan to propose in front of their favourite band, or whilst taking in the festival surroundings in the middle of it all!
