According to a study from 2021, the average carat size for an engagement ring was 1.5ct. However, in the same study, it was found that the size of the ring was not as much of an important factor as the cut and shape of the diamond.

Yes! Diamonds are the hardest material on the planet so won’t get damaged by everyday wear. However, you may want to be careful if you do lots of exercise or activities as, although it's unlikely to get damaged, you don’t want to lose it. If your diamond ring does get damaged or lost, any good jewellery insurance should cover it.
